Sometimes, we need a diaper that does it all. The Thirsties Natural All In One is the do it all diaper. It's the one diaper that provides a huge amount of absorbency, leak proof exterior and is a one piece, one use system. If you need something easy on the go, easy to clean and super trim, you need a NAIO.
In this article, we will discuss the sizing, fiber facts and construction of the Thirsties Natural All In One.
What Is An All In One (or AIO)?
Referring to a cloth diaper as an All In One diaper, or an AIO, means that everything you need for a single diaper change comes in one piece.
All cloth diaper systems are made of two parts: something waterproof to prevent leaks and something absorbent to hold in liquids. An AIO combines these two aspects in one single piece diaper.
Each AIO diaper is a single diaper change, meaning that with each change you will need an entirely new diaper. No part of the AIO is reusable once it has been soiled. The AIO is the closest in concept to a disposable diaper as you really want to get, so they are great for babysitters, grandparents, quick changes on the go and day cares.
Sizing
The Thirsties Natural All In One is designed to fit babies from eight to forty pounds. There are three rise settings located on the front of the diaper that allow for the diaper to be sized shorter or longer, depending on baby's age and weight.
In general, the lowest rise snap, or the set of snaps furthest from the waist snaps will fit babies from eight to about twenty pounds. The middle row of snaps, or the second rise snap, will fit babies generally from twenty to about thirty pounds and if you let the rise fully out, meaning not snapped at all, this will fit baby from thirty to about forty pounds.
#ThirstiesTip To get the perfect fit, adjust your rise snaps then your waist snaps. This will allow you to get a snug fit at the waist and select the perfect rise setting too.
Fiber Facts
Fun fact: The Thirsties Natural All In One has eleven thirsty layers of natural fibers. There are three layers of GOTS certified organic cotton in the body and two soaker pads with eight layers of hemp/organic cotton. This signature hemp/organic cotton blend has been a Thirsties staple in many other products and is truly what gives the NAIO its incredible absorbency.
The outer layer is 100% waterproof TPU laminate and prevents leaks and blowouts. The signature hemp/cotton blend is 55% hemp and 45% organic cotton, making it one of the most absorbent cores on the market today.
#ThirstiesTip Loving this hemp blend? Look for Thirsties hemp/organic cotton prefolds and inserts made of the same blend for your All In Two cloth diaper systems.
Customize Your Absorbency
Need to customize your absorbency? We've got you covered. The twin set of soaker pads in the NAIO can be flipped and folded to get the most absorbency possible directly in your baby's wet zone.
What's a wet zone? The wet zone is the area of the diaper that your baby soils most consistently. For some boys it's at the front of the diaper and for girls, it tends to be at the back of the diaper. Adding extra absorbency to the wet zone will help to minimize the chance of leaks due to flooding and help to keep baby as dry as possible before the next change.
Two soakers not enough?
#ThirstiesTip You can easily add more absorbency by using a Thirsties organic cotton wipe to fold around the soaker pads. This will not only increase absorbency, but is probably something you already have in your cloth diaper collection, making it budget friendly too!
#Momrealness
We tried and absolutely loved Thirsties Natural AIO from about 3 months old through potty learning. It was the perfect amount of absorbency for my daughter and the trimness that my husband prefers. It was so easy to add absorbency for nighttime and washing was a breeze.
We used the wipe trick to avoid hard to spray poos and an extra hemp/organic cotton insert for nighttime. The absorbency of the NAIO is absolutely incredible and we rarely needed any sort of booster during the day. The NAIO was, without a doubt, our favorite AIO on the market. (We actually started using the Thirsties Natural Newborn All In Ones and after we realized how much we loved them, we just had to get the One Size version!)
