A prefold is a flat diaper that is usually quilted and can be trifolded or fastened under a diaper cover. They are the workhorse of the cloth diapering world, and very affordable and versatile. Thirsties has strived to overcome many of the cons of prefolds in the design of the Duo Hemp Prefold:
We have the same amount of layers throughout, accept at the top which you can fold down
- Patent-pending design is easy to clean, quick to dry, and grows with your baby
- Made from buttery soft custom hemp jersey knitted in the USA (55% Hemp, 45% Cotton)
- 25% more absorbent and much more durable than pure cotton
- Maintains a trim and comfortable fit
- Naturally antimicrobial
I bought some premium unbleached organic cotton prefolds and I so didn’t realize how big they would be. Now my baby boy has a big ’ol bubble butt!
I’d like to try hemp and compare the absorbency.
I’ve been trying to figure out the difference between lots of different prefolds – thanks for giving the down low on yours!
I love my Thirsties hemp prefolds. They are super absorbent and were a great step up when my son started out-peeing his (premium quality) infant prefolds. However, I have to disagree about fast drying. They take forever to dry along the stitching line where the four layers of fabric meet. Still, that’s a minor problem and certainly doesn’t stop me using them.
love love love that they’re made in the USA!! I only wish they were cheaper so I could buy more!
Good to know that snappis hurt knit fabrics like your prefold.
